Jaelynn Chaney accused Seattle-Tacoma International Airport of discrimination after allegedly being denied wheelchair assistance because of her size.
The 28-year-old influencer, who has over 140,000 TikTok followers, said an airport employee walked away after seeing her, leaving her without help while other passengers received assistance. Chaney, who identifies as a 6XL and sometimes uses wheelchair support for long distances, said she was forced to walk a long jet bridge, causing breathing difficulties and nearly making her faint.
She later protested at the airport holding a “Wheelchair Access for All” sign and criticized SeaTac for what she described as unfair treatment of plus-size disabled travelers.
Chaney has also campaigned for better airline policies, including free extra seating for larger passengers and improved accessibility training. Her FAA petition has gained over 39,000 signatures, with many supporters sharing similar experiences of discomfort and fat-shaming during air travel.
