Queen Camilla Speaks Out on Ongoing Illness, Reveals Reason for Extended Absence

Queen Camilla, 77, opened up about her health after cutting back on duties due to a chest infection. On Dec. 3, she revealed it was a form of pneumonia and she’s recovering well, though still dealing with post-viral fatigue.

The Queen skipped the traditional Horse Guards Parade on Dec. 3 during the Qatar state visit, and was instead driven to Buckingham Palace for a luncheon and some events. She also reduced her role at the state banquet, but attended the dinner and planned to participate in farewells on Dec. 4.

Despite her health, Queen Camilla is maintaining a lighter schedule, following doctors’ advice. Her chest infection, first announced on Nov. 5, has had lingering symptoms, but she returned to work a week later. She’s gradually resuming her duties while managing fatigue.
