Tommy DeCarlo, lead singer of the legendary rock band Boston, has died at the age of 60 after battling brain cancer.
His wife Annie and children Talia and Tommy Jr. confirmed his passing in a heartfelt Facebook statement, saying he fought the disease with “incredible strength and courage” until the end.
DeCarlo became famous in 2007 after posting tribute covers of Boston songs online following the death of original singer Brad Delp. His vocals caught the attention of Boston founder Tom Scholz, who invited him to audition and later join the band.
Before his music career took off, DeCarlo worked as a credit manager while performing music as a hobby. He officially debuted with Boston during their 2008 tour and spent more than a decade performing classic hits like “More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind,” and “Don’t Look Back.” He also appeared on the band’s 2013 album Life, Love & Hope.
Known for his powerful voice and heartfelt performances, DeCarlo inspired fans with his unlikely journey from posting online tribute songs to becoming the frontman of one of rock’s most iconic bands.
