Ann Robinson, best known for playing Sylvia Van Buren in War of the Worlds, has passed away at the age of 96. Her family confirmed she died at her Los Angeles home on September 26 last year, though the news was only recently announced. No cause of death was revealed.
Born in Hollywood in 1929, Robinson started as a stunt performer before landing her iconic role in War of the Worlds, which became the highlight of her career. She later appeared in the TV adaptation of the film and other productions including Imitation of Life and several popular TV shows.
Robinson once admitted stepping away from Hollywood in 1957 to marry matador Jaime Bravo hurt her career, but she eventually returned to acting. Her final film role was in 2020’s The Last Page of Summer.
Rest in peace, Ann Robinson.
