A 75-year-old woman, Anita Grayson, died after a physical altercation with employees at a Tim Hortons in Indiana on May 13.
Police said Grayson entered the restaurant to complain about a drive-thru order and began arguing with a 17-year-old worker. A 20-year-old shift lead reportedly stepped in and asked her to leave. Investigators said Grayson then moved toward the teenage employee, leading to a fight between her and the shift lead.
Authorities say Grayson struck the employee several times before workers separated them. Minutes later, she became unresponsive inside the restaurant and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
An autopsy reportedly found “no significant contributory injuries,” and officials are still investigating the exact cause of death. Grayson’s family criticized how the situation was handled, describing her as a loving mother of four and devoted Jehovah’s Witness.
