Barney Frank, the first openly gay member of Congress, has died at 86. He represented Massachusetts for 32 years and helped reform Wall Street after the 2008 financial crisis. Frank also became the first member of Congress to marry a same-sex partner in 2012. Before his death, he said one regret was not living long enough to see the “continued implosion” of Donald Trump. Tributes from Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi praised his impact on politics, LGBTQ+ rights, and financial reform.
