Stephen Colbert ended his run on The Late Show with a star-filled finale after hosting the show since 2015. During his emotional goodbye, Colbert thanked fans and staff, saying the show had been a “joy” to create together.
The final episode featured surprise appearances from Bryan Cranston, Paul Rudd, Ryan Reynolds, Jon Stewart, and other late-night hosts, all joking about being Colbert’s “last guest.”
The biggest surprise came when Paul McCartney appeared with a signed photo from The Beatles’ famous 1964 performance at the Ed Sullivan Theater. The finale ended with music, comedy, and a final gag as the theater was humorously “swallowed” into a snow globe, closing out the legendary late-night series.
