French actor Pierre Deny, known internationally for his role in Emily in Paris, has died at the age of 69 following a sudden and severe battle with ALS, his family confirmed.

Deny began his career on stage in the 1980s before becoming a well-known face on French television, appearing in more than 60 productions, including Tomorrow Is Ours, where he played Renaud Dumaze in over 300 episodes.

Global audiences later recognized him as Louis de Leon, the CEO of luxury fashion conglomerate JVMA in Emily in Paris alongside Lily Collins.

Co-star Paul Forman paid tribute on Instagram, calling it a privilege to work with Deny and praising his warmth and talent.

His death comes as fans are also preparing for the sixth and final season of Emily in Paris, which is currently in production.
