Posted on May 30, 2026 By admin

Former Los Angeles Angels star Garret Anderson has died at age 53 after suffering a medical emergency at his home in Newport Beach, California. According to the coroner, the primary cause of death was acute necrotizing pancreatitis.

An autopsy also revealed Anderson was battling serious health issues, including advanced fatty liver disease and an enlarged heart linked to long-term high blood pressure.

A three-time All-Star and key member of the Angels’ 2002 World Series championship team, Anderson spent most of his 17-year MLB career with the Angels and remains the franchise’s all-time hits leader. He was inducted into the Angels Hall of Fame in 2016 and is survived by his wife, Teresa, and their three children.
