Two Florida boys, ages 12 and 13, are facing serious charges after allegedly causing more than $50,000 in damage to Friendship Elementary School’s library in Deltona. Authorities say the pair broke into the school, vandalized the media center by throwing books, damaging furniture, and spray-painting graffiti, then later returned and caused even more destruction.
Surveillance footage helped identify the suspects, but the breakthrough came when both boys’ mothers recognized them and contacted police. According to investigators, the boys later confessed to the incident.
The pre-teens now face multiple charges, including burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief, and theft. The case sparked strong reactions online, with many praising the mothers for holding their children accountable. Others suggested the boys should help clean and restore the library as part of their punishment.
