Thailand is mourning the loss of Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the eldest daughter of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, who has passed away at the age of 47 after a long illness.
The princess spent nearly four years in a coma after collapsing in December 2022 due to a serious heart condition. Despite ongoing medical treatment, her health continued to decline because of multiple complications, including infections and heart-related issues.
Known affectionately as “Princess Bha,” she was widely respected for her work as a lawyer, diplomat, and advocate for social justice. Throughout her life, she represented Thailand in several international roles and dedicated much of her work to supporting women and improving prison conditions.
The Royal Household confirmed her passing in Bangkok, where she had remained under medical care for years. Funeral ceremonies will be held with full royal honors at the Grand Palace.
Her death has prompted an outpouring of grief across Thailand, with leaders describing her as a symbol of compassion, justice, and service to the nation. 🌹💔
