The death of 18-year-old Anna Marie Kepner during a Caribbean cruise has become the focus of a major criminal case. Anna, a Florida high school senior with plans to attend college, was found dead in her cabin aboard a cruise ship in November 2025. Authorities later ruled her death a homicide and determined she had also been sexually assaulted.
Investigators eventually charged her 16-year-old stepbrother, Timothy Hudson, after DNA evidence and surveillance footage allegedly linked him to the crime. Although initially charged as a juvenile, a federal judge later ordered that he be prosecuted as an adult. Hudson has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody while awaiting trial. If convicted, he could face life in prison. The case has drawn national attention as both families continue to grapple with the tragedy.
