Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been hospitalized in critical but stable condition after being diagnosed with pneumonia, according to his spokesperson and business associates.
Giuliani, 81, is currently recovering in Florida and is now breathing on his own with family and medical staff at his side. His condition was described as serious due to complications from a pre-existing respiratory illness, which made the infection more severe.
He had recently appeared on his online program while visibly unwell, later requiring hospitalization. Officials said he is “a fighter” and asked for prayers as he continues recovery.
Giuliani, once known as “America’s Mayor” for his leadership after 9/11, has faced ongoing legal, financial, and health challenges in recent years.
