Then I called my attorney and updated my $5.8 million estate. Years of supporting my family had created entitlement instead of gratitude, and I realized it was time to set boundaries. My grandchildren would still be protected, but my generosity would no longer be taken for granted. I walked away without anger—only self-respect. Sometimes the hardest lesson is learning that love should never be measured by money.
