At just 16 years old, Bryce Brooks became a hero.
During a family vacation in Pensacola, Florida, the Atlanta teenager saw four children struggling in dangerous rip currents. Without hesitation, Bryce jumped into the water to save them.
His father, Shivy Brooks, said Bryce called for help—not for himself, but for the children he was trying to rescue. Tragically, the current pulled him under, and Bryce later died.
“We’ll never get to see Bryce grow into the man he was meant to be,” his father said. “But he stepped into his manhood by saving those children, and that makes me proud.”
Bryce’s family created the Bryce Brooks Foundation to promote water safety and prevent drownings, ensuring his final act of courage continues to save lives.
