Pregnancy and labor can be scary, with every mom hoping for a healthy baby. But for Chelsea, the joy turned to fear when her son Karson was born with serious medical issues and placed on a ventilator.
Her mother, Lisa Hough, shared that Karson suffered a brain hemorrhage and a rare genetic disorder called NKH, leaving doctors with a grim prognosis. They said he’d never breathe, swallow, or survive without life support—and his mom made the heartbreaking decision to remove it.
But then, a miracle happened.
Karson began breathing on his own. His heart and oxygen levels stabilized, and he even swallowed and opened his eyes. Doctors were stunned, calling it unexplainable by science.
Lisa wrote, “I’m not sure how long we have, but we have him now. And now we will take.”
On March 1, the family received more incredible news—Karson was coming home. His story of survival touched thousands, with over 30,000 reactions to Lisa’s post celebrating their miracle baby.
