White House launches “Trump TV” after major networks suspend coverage
ABC, CBS, Fox News and NBC suspended White House pool coverage after CNN, MS NOW and Politico were barred from the White House.
The three outlets sued the Trump administration, arguing the ban violated their First Amendment rights.
After the networks pulled their coverage, the White House promoted its own online feed, calling it “Trump TV” and promising direct updates from the administration.
The White House defended the restrictions, while the networks said the public deserves independent coverage of the government.
The legal battle over press access is now underway.
