My Son Was Moving His Family Into My House—Until I Sold It
My son Ethan decided that his wife, kids, and mother would move into my house.
He never asked me. He simply assumed I would agree.
So when he said Saturday was moving day, I smiled and said, “Fine.”
But while they packed, I made my own plans.
Saturday morning, Ethan arrived with the moving truck.
Instead of welcoming them, I introduced him to the new owner.
“You sold the house?” he asked.
“Yes,” I replied. “I chose peace over obligation.”
For the first time, Ethan realized he had made plans for my life without asking what I wanted.
