My Neighbor Stole Gas From My Truck—Then I Made Sure the Whole Neighborhood Found Out
I’m 70, widowed, and still drive the old blue pickup my wife and I bought decades ago.
When gas started disappearing, I thought my truck had a leak.
Then my granddaughter Katie installed a security camera.
At 4 a.m., I watched my neighbor Clark sneak onto my property, siphon gas from my truck, and casually walk home.
When I confronted him, he didn’t apologize.
“You’re retired,” he said. “You barely drive anywhere. I need it more than you do.”
That was when I decided he’d had enough chances.
With Katie’s help, I put together a harmless package containing photos of him stealing my gas and a little surprise he definitely wasn’t expecting.
The next morning, Clark opened the package in front of several neighbors.
His smile disappeared instantly.
His wife saw the photographs.
Then everyone knew.
A week later, Clark came to my door and apologized.
But his next words stayed with me:
“I guess I thought you were kind of… done.”
I looked at him and said:
“I’m seventy. I’m not gone.”
