Mark Consuelos Reveals He’s Finally Undergoing Major Surgery
Mark Consuelos revealed on Friday, September 25, that he was heading into surgery immediately after Live with Kelly and Mark.
The 55-year-old co-host said he had been putting off surgery on his big toe for about a year because of severe arthritis and ongoing pain.
“It’s arthritic, it’s bad,” Consuelos told Kelly Ripa. “I need help. Yeah, it hurts.”
His foot problems reportedly began during his years playing soccer, when he developed turf toe that eventually became arthritic.
Ripa joked about filming him after anesthesia, while Consuelos admitted he was already hungry after fasting before the procedure.
The couple also joked about his recovery, with Consuelos saying he planned to “bedazzle” his medical boot.
Despite Ripa calling it a “pedicure,” Consuelos insisted: “This is a major surgery.”
