Our Neighbor Had Our Cars Towed — Then She Realized Her Mistake
One Tuesday morning, we found a note on our windshield: “One car per house!”
We ignored it because both of our cars were legally parked. Three days later, tow trucks arrived and began taking them away after someone reported them as illegally parked.
Then we saw our neighbor across the street, smiling proudly. It was the same woman who had left the note.
Instead of arguing, I pulled out my phone and showed her the registration tags.
Both vehicles were company fleet cars with commercial registration. The towing company had just removed them without proper authorization, potentially creating a costly liability.
I calmly told her, “You may have just caused a very expensive mistake.”
Her smile disappeared.
The tow trucks quickly stopped and began making calls. Within minutes, our cars were lowered back onto the street.
After the company apologized, everything was resolved—and our neighbor never left another note again.
