Barry Manilow Reveals Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Postpones January Concerts
At 82, legendary singer Barry Manilow has revealed that he was diagnosed with a cancerous spot on his left lung after months of bronchitis and a relapse.
Doctors discovered the spot during an MRI and believe it was caught early. Manilow is scheduled to undergo surgery after his Christmas concerts, followed by about a month of recovery.
He says doctors do not believe the cancer has spread and that he currently does not expect to need chemotherapy or radiation.
Because of his recovery, several January concerts have been postponed to February through April.
Manilow apologized to fans for the schedule changes and shared a heartfelt reminder: “If you have even the slightest symptom, get checked out.”
