Man Built a Concrete Wall Around His Neighbor’s Mercedes for Parking on His Lawn — But the Crane Rescue Ended in Disaster

Posted on November 2, 2026 By admin

For six months, Richard repeatedly parked his expensive Mercedes on my lawn, even though he had a large driveway of his own.

I asked him politely to stop. I left notes, complained, and even offered to help him rearrange his cars. Nothing worked.

Instead, he laughed and told me I should be grateful to have an expensive car decorating my yard.

My name is Robert, I’m 48, and eventually I lost my patience.

With help from a friend, I built a concrete barrier around Richard’s Mercedes while it was parked on my property. By morning, he couldn’t drive forward, reverse, or get out.

When Richard saw what I’d done, he exploded.

He threatened lawsuits, demanded that I remove the wall, and promised to do whatever it took to recover his car.

Rather than accept help removing a section of the barrier, he hired a specialized crane.

The operator inspected the setup and warned him that lifting the Mercedes over the wall would be extremely risky. Richard refused to listen.

As the car rose into the air, it suddenly began swinging toward my house.

The operator shouted for everyone to move, but it was too late.

The Mercedes crashed into my porch, smashing the railing and damaging a wooden support. The car was badly damaged, and my house was suddenly unsafe.

My victory had turned into an expensive disaster.

A contractor estimated that the porch repairs could cost more than $14,000. Insurance companies began investigating, and nobody could immediately guarantee who would cover the damage.

Two days later, Richard unexpectedly came to my door with a contractor’s business card. He offered to help arrange an inspection.

I initially suspected another trick, but his attitude had changed.

The next day, I accepted the introduction, making it clear that I would choose the contractor.

Later, Richard approached me beside the concrete barrier and finally apologized.

He admitted he’d known he was wrong to keep parking on my lawn. He had simply enjoyed refusing to listen.

Then he revealed something I hadn’t expected.

Years earlier, he’d lost a close friendship after repeatedly blocking a friend’s driveway. The friend had asked him to stop, but Richard refused because he couldn’t stand being told what to do.

He had never apologized.

That admission made me think about my own actions.

I’d spent six months wanting Richard to respect my property, but I’d built the wall to humiliate him. I had ignored warnings about how dangerous the situation could become.

For the first time, we both admitted we had made mistakes.

We eventually reached a written agreement. Richard would pay to restore the lawn he had damaged, while I would take responsibility for removing the concrete barriers. We would work with the insurers and coordinate the repairs rather than making assumptions about who owed every expense.

The Mercedes was eventually removed by a professional crew, and my porch was repaired over the following weeks.

Richard never parked on my lawn again.

We didn’t become friends, but the disrespect finally stopped.

One afternoon, my friend Fletcher asked whether I’d build that wall again.

I looked at my freshly repaired lawn and remembered the Mercedes crashing into my porch.

“No,” I replied. “I’d find another way.”

I’d wanted Richard to learn that my property wasn’t his to use.

He finally learned that lesson, but so did I.

Sometimes being right about a problem doesn’t mean every way of solving it is right.

And sometimes karma doesn’t choose sides. It simply makes sure everyone involved pays attention.
