Taylor Swift’s voice may appear in It Ends With Us, but that’s the extent of her involvement, her rep confirmed, amid a growing legal dispute surrounding the 2024 film.
According to TMZ, Swift was subpoenaed by director Justin Baldoni’s legal team in his lawsuit against co-star Blake Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist. The conflict began after Lively accused Baldoni of enabling on-set sexual harassment, prompting a defamation countersuit from Baldoni.
A spokesperson for Swift told The Times that her only connection to the film was licensing her song “My Tears Ricochet,” and she had no creative role. They called the subpoena an attempt to exploit Swift’s fame for publicity.
Swift’s name emerged after Baldoni’s team referenced a “megacelebrity friend” of Reynolds and Lively, who allegedly influenced script changes. Lively reportedly referred to Swift and Reynolds as her “dragons,” saying they protect those she fights for.
