5-yr-old saves sister, dog from burning home then alerts rest of family

Posted on May 11, 2025 By admin

A 5-year-old boy is being hailed a hero after waking up to flames in his bedroom Sunday morning and helping his entire family of nine escape.

Noah Woods woke to find his room, which he shared with his 2-year-old sister Lily, on fire. He grabbed Lily and the family dog, escaped through a window, then ran back in to alert his uncle and help others get out.

Thanks to Noah’s quick actions, all nine family members survived. He and four others were treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

The Bartow County Fire Department honored Noah as an Honorary Firefighter and awarded him a Lifesaving Award.

“If it wasn’t for Noah, we may not be here today,” said his grandfather, David Woods.
