After years of resentment, Mike discovers the Bible his late grandmother left him hides a shocking secret—what once reminded him of their last fight becomes his saving grace.

Mike, exhausted from long shifts and drowning in debt from his mother’s medical bills, returns home one night to find her frailer than ever. Burdened and hopeless, he notices the Bible his devout grandmother Grace left him—unopened since her funeral—still collecting dust.

Their last memory together was a bitter fight over church attendance, after which they never spoke again. When Grace passed, Mike received nothing from her estate but that Bible with a note: “Open it when it’s hard.”

Six years later, facing rock bottom, he finally opens it. To his shock, hidden among the pages are thousands of dollars in cash. Grace had left him more than scripture—she left a lifeline.

Tears streaming, Mike uses the money for his mom’s treatment. As she begins to recover, he enrolls in a course he never thought he could afford. The Bible, once a symbol of guilt, becomes a symbol of hope—and love that never gave up on him.
