At my father-in-law’s funeral, my four-year-old son Ben innocently revealed a truth that shattered everything.
My husband Arthur and I had been married for six years. We met at a book club—he was charming, smart, and sincere. We built a life together: a stable marriage, a beautiful home, and our son Ben.
Arthur worked long hours at his father’s company, and I believed in our partnership. We never kept secrets—or so I thought.
At the funeral reception, Ben whispered something strange:
“I saw Daddy touch that lady’s leg under the table. He said he was helping with spiders.”
The lady was Rachel—Arthur’s childhood friend, his father’s assistant, and someone I’d trusted completely.
