Bride and Groom Made Us Serve and Clean at Their Wedding – But Karma Didn’t Let Them Slide

We expected champagne and celebration at our friends’ wedding — not task lists and toilet duty.

When we arrived at the beautiful Belmont Estate, we were immediately pulled aside by the bride and groom. Turns out, their entire wedding staff had “fallen through,” and they needed their guests — us — to take over. We were handed to-do lists: set up tables, serve drinks, clean bathrooms. All while the couple and their families relaxed, sipping champagne.

Despite the shock, we played along… at first. But as Sarah barked orders and critiqued our swan-shaped napkins, enough was enough. During a quick break, a few of us decided our “services” would replace the thousand-dollar gifts we’d planned to give.

That night, after serving with forced smiles and aching feet, we delivered our message loud and clear: no gifts — our labor was payment enough.

Sarah was furious, and in the chaos, she stumbled backward… right into her wedding cake.

We left laughing, cake-crash burned into memory. No regrets. Sometimes the best gift is a dose of karma — with frosting on top.
