I Helped My Husband Get Back with His First Love but Didn’t Know What I’d Go Through – Story of the Day

I tried to reunite my husband with the woman he once loved—behind his back. I thought it was selfless. Simple. But it wasn’t.

Marriage, for most, is about love. For me, it was comfort—a way to quiet questions. Hunter and I weren’t lovers, just peaceful partners. No passion, but no pain either. It worked… until it didn’t.

Lately, Hunter grew distant. I confided in my friend Kieran, who suggested the unthinkable: maybe Hunter was in love with someone else.

So I followed him. He met a woman at a café. No cheating, but I could see the truth in his eyes—he still loved her. Her name was Alison, his first love.

At home, I asked for a divorce. He resisted, but I knew what he wanted. Alison was leaving for Europe. I decided to help.

Kieran drove me to the airport. I found Alison just before she boarded. I told her the truth—Hunter still loved her. She hesitated, then left with me.

We brought her back. Hunter saw her, and their connection was undeniable.

As I sat in the car, Kieran turned to me. “Are you really okay with this?”

“I never loved him that way,” I said.

“Maybe I can change that,” he replied, gently taking my hand.

Hunter thanked me. “I hope you find love too,” he said.

“Maybe I already have,” I whispered, glancing at Kieran.
