Following Donald Trump’s return to the Oval Office, Mary called this a “uniquely dangerous” time, urging Americans to prepare for a different kind of political reality. She suggested his second term could bring significant instability.
Speculation has grown over Trump’s possible attempt to extend his presidency beyond the two-term constitutional limit. Though he hinted at “loopholes” that could allow it, he claimed not to believe in using them.
Mary Trump fears he may try to remain in power indefinitely, stating, “It’s more likely he’ll just say, ‘I’m president for life.’” She warned that the country lacks clear mechanisms to remove a president who refuses to leave, calling this a real threat to democracy.
She concluded that Trump isn’t an outlier, but rather the product of decades of political decline, saying, “Donald is the logical conclusion to 40 years of Republican degradation.”
