Flying may be fast, but for some, it’s far from convenient. While most gripe about cramped seats, plus-sized influencer Bo Berry says the real issue is airplane bathrooms — they’re simply too small.
In a viral TikTok titled “Flying while fat – lavatory edition,” Bo reveals she can’t fit into standard airplane lavatories and avoids flying longer than six hours. “Accessibility is the number one roadblock,” she says, describing how she once nearly had an accident on a rerouted flight due to lack of bathroom access.
She’s not alone. Others echo her concerns, arguing airlines prioritize profits over comfort, shrinking lavatories to add more seats. According to aviation consultant Gary Weissel, each added seat can generate $400,000 annually. Pilot Jimmy Walton calls the downsized bathrooms “the most miserable experience in the world.”
Bo’s story has sparked debate online — some support her push for more inclusive design, while others criticize her for expecting planes to change rather than adapting personally.
