On a spring day in 2017, Hannah Simmons was driving her nine-month-old daughter, Alannah, and best friend to a routine checkup in Gainesville, Georgia, when her car collided head-on with a truck. All three died instantly.
The tragedy devastated Hannah’s family. But days later, a photo from the crash site brought unexpected comfort.
Nineteen-year-old Anisa Gannon, stuck in traffic near the accident, snapped a photo to explain her delay to work. Later, she noticed a beam of light shining down on the crash site in the image.
When Anisa shared it with the victims’ families, they were deeply moved. Her aunt said it looked like “they were going to heaven.”
Though some see it as a reflection, Hannah’s family believes it shows a “pathway to heaven,” offering them peace amid their grief.
