My Sister and Her Family Moved Into My House Without My Permission — Karma Hit Them Hard the Same Day

Phoebe’s day hit rock bottom when she came home to find her sister Holly, her husband Nicholas, and their kids moving into her house—without asking. But karma had other plans.

Phoebe, 31, had worked for a decade to own her modest three-bedroom house. Unlike her sister, Holly, who lived impulsively, sold her home, and set off with her family on a year-long trip around the world. It didn’t last—within two months, they were broke and back.

Using a spare key Phoebe had left with their mom, they let themselves in and took over her home. When Phoebe protested, they insisted “family helps family” and dismissed her anger.

Unwilling to call the police on kids, Phoebe turned to her prankster friend Alex. Coincidentally dressed as a cop for a party, he showed up in costume and played the role perfectly—scaring Holly and Nicholas into packing up and leaving.

Once they were gone, Phoebe finally laughed. She had her house—and peace—back. Family or not, she realized, boundaries mattered.
