Donald Trump has defended the recent U.S. military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, despite reports questioning its effectiveness.
Over the weekend, the U.S. launched Operation Midnight Hammer, targeting three nuclear sites—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan—with over 100 aircraft, including B-2 stealth bombers. While Trump initially hailed the mission as a success, new assessments have cast doubt.
Dr. Jeffrey Lewis, a nonproliferation expert, told The Independent that Iran likely moved key equipment before the strike. A classified Defense Intelligence Agency report, cited by CNN, suggests Iran’s uranium stockpile remains mostly intact, raising the possibility of further action.
The White House rejected the criticism. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the report “flat-out wrong” and said the operation achieved “total obliteration.”
On Truth Social, Trump attacked the media, calling reports “FAKE NEWS” and insisting the sites were “completely destroyed,” accusing critics of disrespecting the military.
