Stunt Performer Sues Kevin Costner Over Unscripted Rape Scene in Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2
Devyn LaBella, a stunt double for actress Ella Hunt, is suing Kevin Costner and producers of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 for breach of contract, sexual harassment, and creating a hostile work environment. She alleges she was forced to perform a violent, unscripted simulated rape scene without prior notice, consent, or an intimacy coordinator, violating SAG-AFTRA protocols.
LaBella claims Costner directed the scene himself after Hunt refused to participate, and that the set was not closed to the crew. She says the incident left her humiliated and in therapy.
Costner has denied all allegations. His attorney says LaBella consented to the scene and even thanked the team afterward in a message.
Costner, who wrote, directed, and stars in Horizon, has largely self-funded the series. Despite Chapter 1 flopping at the box office, he plans to complete all four installments. He also said he has no plans to retire.
