The birth of our daughter, Sarah, turned into a nightmare when my husband, Alex, questioned her paternity. He was suspicious because she had pale blue eyes and blonde hair, unlike his and my brown features. Despite my explanations, he insisted on a paternity test. His doubts hurt, but I agreed to it.
While we waited, Alex stayed with his parents, leaving me to care for Sarah alone. Then his mother called, threatening to ruin me if the test showed Sarah wasn’t his. I was devastated.
When the results came back, they confirmed Sarah was Alex’s, but he was furious at my response. He had no idea his mother had threatened me. After a heated confrontation, Emily, my sister, told him to leave.
Days later, Alex apologized, but I was unsure if I could trust him again. Then, I found messages on his phone, revealing his affair with a colleague. I filed for divorce, and the settlement gave me the house, our car, and child support. By the time Alex returned home, I was gone, staying with Emily as the divorce proceeded.
