Robin Kaye, acclaimed music supervisor for American Idol, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were found dead in their Encino home on Monday in what LAPD is investigating as a double homicide. Officers discovered their bodies, both with apparent gunshot wounds, after a welfare check was prompted by family concerns.
Blood was found near the front door, and police forced entry through a window. The couple was pronounced dead at the scene. No suspects have been identified, and the motive remains unclear.
Just days earlier, police had responded to the same home after a report of an attempted break-in involving an armed suspect. No forced entry was found at that time, and it’s unknown if the incidents are connected. Surveillance footage is under review.
Kaye, a veteran of the TV industry, supervised music for American Idol for over 15 seasons and also worked on Lip Sync Battle. Her death has shocked the entertainment world, where she was known for her talent and influence.
