Keanu Reeves, one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars, recently shared an injury story that concerned fans. While filming the comedy Good Fortune with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen, Reeves broke his kneecap—not during a stunt, but in a freak accident.
Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 59-year-old actor recalled walking into a dressing room after a cold plunge when his foot caught in a carpet pocket, causing him to fall. “My patella cracked like a potato chip,” he said, demonstrating the moment.
Reeves joked, “Comedy is hard, man,” confirming the injury didn’t happen during an action scene. He had been seen on crutches earlier this year during filming.
Good Fortune marks Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut and also stars Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
