Jay Leno, longtime late-night host and car enthusiast, is preparing for his final chapter at age 74. He’s making end-of-life plans and donating a large sum to an automobile museum—a passion that nearly cost him his life twice.
After leaving The Tonight Show, Leno launched Jay Leno’s Garage (2015–2022), a car-themed web series with over 3.7 million YouTube followers, sharing his love for cars and bikes.
In 2022, Leno suffered severe burns in a garage fire and later endured a serious motorcycle crash just two months later, resulting in multiple injuries. Despite these setbacks and age-related health issues, Leno remains devoted to his wife Mavis, whom he married in 1980. “Marry your conscience,” he advises. “Marry the person you wish you were.”
