Deadly danger: the world’s most dangerous insect has emerged

Posted on July 25, 2025 By admin

In recent years, the U.S. has faced a deadly threat from the “killer hornet” (Asian giant hornet), first spotted in Washington state in 2019. Known for their size (up to 2 inches), aggressive behavior, and powerful sting, these invasive wasps can destroy entire bee colonies using their sharp mandibles.

The last sighting occurred in 2021, sparking alarm due to their potential to harm ecosystems and public safety. Though rare, their stings can cause severe allergic reactions.

Killer hornets are just one threat among dangerous insects. Mosquitoes, however, remain the deadliest, transmitting diseases like malaria, dengue, and Zika. Through their bites, mosquitoes inject pathogens into the bloodstream, making them a major global health threat.
