Julia Roberts: The Private Star We Rarely Hear From
Despite being one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Julia Roberts keeps a remarkably low profile. She has a Twitter account with over 540,000 followers—yet has never tweeted. She’s not active on Facebook, and while she does have an Instagram account, she rarely posts, especially about her family.
Roberts has openly said she’s glad to have missed the rise of social media, calling it a “silly mess.” She prefers to keep her personal life private, especially when it comes to her three children—twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, born in 2004, and son Henry, born in 2007.
Julia’s life changed when she married cameraman Daniel Moder in 2002. She once called him her “person,” saying everything meaningful in her life stems from their relationship. The couple has worked together on several projects and celebrated 20 years of marriage.
Their daughter Hazel gained attention in 2021 after appearing on the Cannes red carpet with her dad. Julia shared that Hazel once cut her hair to donate it to Wigs for Kids—a decision that shows she may have inherited not just her mom’s looks, but her generous heart too.
To give their kids a normal life, the family moved from Los Angeles to San Francisco. According to friends, Julia wanted her children to grow up in a place where “no one cares who your mom is.”
Even as her fame continues, Roberts remains devoted to her family, calling herself a “soccer mom and housewife” more than a movie star.
