I thought getting the promotion would be my biggest challenge, but I never anticipated the betrayal from my rival, Beatrix. When Thaddeus, our new director, arrived, everything changed. He exuded charisma, and I couldn’t help but feel drawn to him.

The next day, during our presentation, I was horrified to see Beatrix presenting my work as her own. She had deleted my files and framed me. Thaddeus sided with her, saying she had cleared it with him. I was devastated.
After days of feeling hopeless, I found out that Beatrix hadn’t been with Thaddeus the night before, as I had suspected. In a strange twist, Thaddeus came to my apartment to apologize, admitting his mistake. He also revealed that I’d been promoted to lead my own department, and that he had feelings for me.
