While touring his golf resorts in Scotland, President Trump launched a late-night social media tirade, baselessly claiming Kamala Harris, Oprah Winfrey, and Beyoncé “broke the law” by receiving money for political endorsements during the 2024 election.
Trump alleged Beyoncé was paid $11 million to support Harris—despite never performing—and claimed Oprah and Al Sharpton received millions from Democrats. There’s no evidence supporting these accusations. Both Oprah and Beyoncé’s teams deny any payments for endorsements, stating only production costs were covered by Harris’ campaign.
“YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, calling for prosecution.
He also attacked news networks like NBC and ABC, suggesting their licenses should be revoked for being “political pawns” of Democrats. Trump has a history of legal threats against media outlets, recently filing a $10 billion suit against Rupert Murdoch and settling cases with ABC and CBS.
This follows growing concerns among press freedom advocates over Trump’s use of lawsuits to intimidate the media.
