Actress Christina Applegate has been hospitalized over 30 times since her 2021 multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. She recently shared details of her latest hospital stay on her “MesSy” podcast, recorded from her hospital room alongside cohost Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
Applegate explained that after a trip to Europe, she experienced intense pain on her right side — “a pain I’ve never felt before” — which led her to seek emergency care. She insisted on staying until tests were done and underwent a CT scan at 2 a.m., which revealed a kidney infection. She’s currently on IV antibiotics.
While doctors are exploring other possible causes, she didn’t disclose further details to avoid alarm. Applegate spent seven days in the hospital and has since returned home.
