A Texas school bus carrying 43 people (42 students and a driver) rolled over on a rural road near Austin, sending ten to the hospital — including nine students. One person had life-threatening injuries, and two others were seriously hurt, officials said.
The crash happened Wednesday after school, before any students had been dropped off. The 2024-model elementary school bus veered off the road and overturned near a slight curve, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The cause is still unknown.
Leander ISD Superintendent Bruce Gearing said the experienced driver’s condition was unclear and it’s unknown how many students were wearing seatbelts. Video showed the bus on its side with visible damage.
All hospitalized individuals have since been released. Texas DPS is investigating the incident.
