“How Joni Mitchell Went From Hating Jazz to Becoming a Music Legend”

Born Roberta Joan Anderson on November 7, 1943, in Fort McCloud, Alberta, Joni Mitchell initially wasn’t interested in music. Though her father worked in the music industry, Mitchell was more drawn to art and attended art college.

It was during this time, while frequenting a coffee shop that played jazz, that she began to develop a love for music, despite initially preferring rock and roll over jazz.
