Molly-Mae announced the birth of baby Bambi in January 2023, quickly facing negative comments about the unique name. She admitted feeling shocked by the harsh reactions but defended the choice, saying it had special meaning to her.
The couple had decided on the name before they met in 2019 on Love Island, and Tommy supported Molly’s childhood wish to name her daughter Bambi.
Interestingly, Molly-Mae isn’t the only one who chose the name. TikTok influencer Indy Clinton from Australia also named her daughter Bambi Valentine, inspired by the Disney film. Despite facing similar criticism, Clinton embraces the name, calling her daughter “Bambilicious” and brushing off negative opinions.
Both mothers dismiss the criticism, arguing that unique names like Bambi are part of a new trend and that their daughters’ names will fit in with other unconventional names like Rivers, Bear, and Wolf.
