Donald and Melania Trump have arrived in the UK following an official state visit invitation from King Charles, delivered by PM Keir Starmer in July. After landing, they traveled to Windsor Castle, where they stayed the night.
At the top of the Air Force One stairs, Trump was heard by a lip reader telling Melania, “Ooh, it’s cold” and “Careful,” referring to the wet steps.
The visit comes amid strained US-UK relations, with the Royal Family hoping to strengthen diplomatic ties. However, the invitation sparked backlash, with protests outside Windsor Castle and images of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein projected onto the walls. Four men were arrested.
Upon arrival, the Trumps were welcomed by Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, US Ambassador Warren Stephens, and Viscount Hood. They’ll receive a royal salute on Wednesday and join King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton for a carriage ride through the Windsor estate.
The Trumps will not attend any formal events in London.
