Donald Trump has been in the UK since late Tuesday for a state visit, spending time with the Royal Family, including a military procession and a state banquet with King Charles and Queen Camilla.
However, a body language expert claims King Charles appeared “clearly uneasy” during the visit. This is Trump’s second UK state visit, and unlike in 2019 with Queen Elizabeth, he is now meeting a new monarch.
After arriving Tuesday and staying at Windsor Castle, Trump met with King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Kate. The official welcome included a flyover, military procession, and state banquet.
A key moment mirrored a past incident—just as he once walked ahead of Queen Elizabeth, Trump again stepped in front of King Charles during a troop inspection, possibly breaking royal protocol.
Body language expert Inbaal Honigman said Charles appeared tense and unsure how to respond, smoothing his tie (a sign of nervousness) and ultimately placing a hand on Trump’s back to manage the situation gracefully. Despite Trump’s apparent obliviousness, the King tried to maintain decorum, even walking behind the president at times.
