Donald and Melania Trump have returned to the U.S. after their UK state visit, which included a state banquet attended by the Royal Family. President Trump gave a speech, but a lip reader caught him making a private remark to King Charles beforehand, saying, “It’s so incredible, it’s what you do so well.”
The visit followed an invitation from King Charles in July and drew significant media attention from the moment the Trumps met Prince William and Kate Middleton. At the banquet, Trump was seated between Kate and the King and gave high praise to the Royal Family, especially Prince William, calling him “really amazing” and predicting “unbelievable success.”
Trump, who has a personal connection to the UK through his Scottish-born mother, called the invitation the “highest honor” and highlighted the deep cultural ties between the two nations. He also praised King Charles for his personal touch, joking about the King’s familiarity with the many guests: “The King knew every single person… I was very impressed.”
